Our Vacation Rentals are located in the small town of Republic, Michigan, right on the Michigamme River. We are 40 minutes from Marquette - great location for day trips. The Pine Grove Bar, Summer Place Restaurant and Maki's Mini-Mart are all within walking distance. There is also an antique store (open weekends, summer only). Both rentals are located in the small town of Republic, Upper Michigan, located 40 miles southwest of Marquette, centrally located between Copper Harbor and Munising.

Small town America still exists. Republic is a small town centrally located in the U.P. It's a great place to launch day trips from Munising to Copper Harbor. We have books on waterfalls, hiking, etc. Or, you can spend your mornings with a cup of coffee watching the lazy river and the wide variety of birds. Your evenings? Those can be spent around the firepit, watching the sun set over the Michigamme River. Either way, it's YOUR vacation so we hope you do what you enjoy!
Winter Sports
Michigamme River Retreat and Four Seasons Get Away are open all 4 seasons!! Drive your snowmobile right from the cabin one block to Iron Ore Heritage Trail (trail #18) entrance, opening the world of the best trails in the UP (see map at bottom of page). There is ample parking outside the Log Cabin and also at the top of the hill (see map below).

Your cabin is equipped with everything you need. Complete kitchen (plates, glasses, cups, pots, pans, staples such as butter, ketchup and mustard), dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, towels, sheets, blankets, grill, fire pit, firewood, roasting sticks, 4 kayaks, life jackets, everything we could think of. Although we know you will want to enjoy the outdoors, we have a computer with internet (and wifi), smart tv, books and games just in case you might have a rainy day.

They love the area and are enjoying every minute of this beautiful place! They hike, watch birds, kayak, go 4 wheeling and explore the area.
